Fiat 126 Controller SETEC

The Fiat has or had a controller of the company ;) SETEC, whose is still in Dresden located. However, they're unable to repair their own controller because of non-exsistens documents of 1994.

In that Box (Controller) are a DC/DC 144VDC down to 12VDC, a charger 10A for 144V lead and the Controller which is originally a Contraves digiVEC.

Burned again are the start resistors, also the DC/DC is not working.

It has so stewed that the dual-layer board is charred on both sides, I suggest bridgging the tracks with separate lines and cut the old out but without success.

The rear looks okay so far.

Rear view of the Controller, on the right the coils from the DC/DC or Charger.

Vorder Ansicht, ohne Karte des digiVec Digitaleingänge
Front view, without the digital input card of the digiVEC.

At the moment it is unclear what will happen with the defective controller yet, it also includes a matching 6KW AC motor. Does anyone of you know more - or can anyone use it?

  1. Hi Ben,
I bought Fiat 126 Electric and took it from Germany (I am from the Czech rep) few weeks ago and I have the same controller inside the car. The man who sold me the car said that the controller should be working 99%. Now I am testing it and trying to find out how everything inside the car works (I have no documentation, of course). I am preparing 120 NiCD cells to replace original 12x12V lead acid batteries. Then I will probably see if the controller works and also if I connected everything well... Petr

    1. Hi Petr,

nice to hear that your Controller is working, I have still my old broken one...but a new Controller is working :)
The old manufacture of the controller still exists but have no documentation of it and no interested to help us.
NiCD and lead acid batteries have different Voltages, let them working within the range old the old 12x12V batteries.
I have some (not much) pages of the controller and a old 3.5" Disk with the program (if it's still on the disk and working).
      regards Ben

  3. Hi Elmar,
